論文中文摘要:現今,國語和台語之語碼轉換現象在新聞的標題和內文中,是很常見的網路新聞報導方式。本研究發現,歷年來的文獻及研究較著重於口說的語碼轉換情形,但文字部分的語碼轉換甚少,尤其在網路新聞的領域更是寥寥可數。因此,本研究致力於分析網路新聞文字上的語碼轉換功能,並研究網路新聞如何使用語碼將國語轉換到台語、日文、英語。本研究選擇挑選 2015 年蘋果日報和東森新聞中挑出使用語碼轉換的新聞,計算網路新聞中語碼轉換的使用程度及歸類其功能。
本研究提出的探討議題為:這些網路新聞媒體頻繁使用語碼轉換,其目的為何?研究結果指出,在此些網路新聞媒體當中,使用語碼轉換的功能為增加幽默及趣味性、展現諷刺時事的態度、以及將本土化的表達方式轉為文字;其主要目的為吸引讀者目光,以及藉由網路新聞,達到與讀者情感上的交流。這份研究發現,語碼轉換的功能的確有效地替網路新聞增添色彩來吸引讀者;由此可知,網路新聞使用語碼轉換的頻率也可預期會變得更加常見。
論文英文摘要:Code-switching from Mandarin into Taiwanese in news titles and news articles is a quite common strategy in online news reports nowadays. There is much research focused on code-switching in oral conversation, but little research has analyzed code-switching in written texts, especially in the online news field. In view of this, this thesis aims to investigate the functions of code-switching in Mandarin online news into three languages, which are Taiwanese, Japanese, and English. Online news reports with code-switching were chosen for the data analysis; these online news were collected from two mass media: Apple Daily and ETtoday, which were supported by a wide range of online readers. A total of 9,124 code-switching tokens from Apple Daily and 17,075 code-switching tokens from ETtoday were collected in April and May 2015, analyzed individually, and categorized into functions. The usage of code-switching in online news contents and titles will be the criterion for defining them in which functions.
The research question raised in this study was: since mass media tend to use code-switching in their online news reports, what are the purposes of code-switching in online news? The results showed that although the functions of code-switching in online news field were observed from three languages but they still had identical functions, which were to create a sense of humor, show an irony/sarcasm attitude, and manifest the expressiveness of written words in to attract readers’ attention and affect readers’ emotional connection to the news itself.
In conclusion, code-switching did help to enrich the news contents to attract more readers, so it is expected that the tendency of mass media to use code-switching will be more frequent in the future.
